This text source shows a little about the history of Hamlet but the rest of it is a summary of the whole play. It includes some quotes to show changes Shakespeare made over the years. Most of this source gives us a deeper picture of the underlying meanings behind the play, and the theology Shakespeare expressed in the play.

Although it is a bit long, it gives an excellent overview of the characters, and sums up the play in a very understandable way.
